So after chatting for a little while I have found that not many people know how to chat in Meetcam using firefox. I feel the need to share how

You can get the firefox web browser at
http://www.getfirefox.com
after installing it you will need to add an extension. the only one you NEED is called IE TAB (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1419/)

download IE TAB (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1419/) in your firefox browser by clicking. the Green button that says install now.

you will have to restart your browser after download and installation is complete

NOW go to http://www.meetcam.com and right click on chat. you will see the option to Open new link in IE tab
now a new tab opens you'll have to sign in again, but now you are logged in with IE inside of firefox. everything will work as it did with IE6, but you get the bonus of having the addons of firefox

now there are other great extensions to add to firefox
I use
Google Toolbar
Adblock
DownloadthemAll
IE Tab
PDF download
VideoDownloader
FoxyTUnes
Gmail space.

Happy firefoxing.

This is quite true, however all this doing is loading an IE browser into a FireFox Tab.
For Tabbed browsing with Meetcam, I would recommend the Maxthon browser.
I would not recommend that people use IE7 with Meetcam at the Moment as it can cause problems.

(I use FireFox, IE6 and Maxthon for various tasks)

Hope this helps.

is Maxthon not just a skin/add on over IE6? I was sure back years ago when I came across it, that is all it was thus sharing the same security vulnerabilities. maybe they have there own core now I do not know.

I find the benefit to IE Tab is not having to install multiple browsers. It loads IE 6 settings inside of Firefox, and I have not run IE6 on this machine since its last format, starting with IE7 as it will be the standard soon enough.

I just want to give more options to people.

You are correct, which is why I use fireFox as my main browser and IE6/Maxthon for Meetcam and other things. :)

IE7 does cause problems for some people when using Meetcam though, nothing to stop people trying it, as it can always be uninstalled, if it does`nt work properly with Meetcam.

Thanks for sharing Stephen, options are always good to have! :)
