Hello all. Hey, this Forum is a darn good idea! :D Anyway, down to business.

At present Meetcam only "works" with Internet Explorer. In the fullness of time will it become compatible with other browsers such as Opera, Mozilla, and Firefox, etc., etc?

Thanks. 8)

I wish I could tell you we'll support every popular browser soon but it's not the case. The videochat takes advantage of technologies used on win xp/2000 and most likely everyone of those PC have IE. That said it's not impossible that the videochat will work on some of those other browsers when we launch the next version.

I believe all browsers that are based on the full IE engine will work with the MeetCam chat software, this includes Maxthon - however browsers such as the newest version of Netscape which offer the feature of being able to use the "rendering engine" of IE, wont work, as this is only to render html and css etc. and doesnt use the full IE core.

If you want to use IE but like tabs and other features than many other browsers use - have you thought about using the Beta Preview of the IE browser, this is the latest version of IE that will ship with the new version of Windows when its released (vista)

Yeah, no chance on getting meetcam to run in other browsers soon. It uses an ActiveX control and ActiveX is an IE only thing...

So, pardon my ignorance, but I take it that this is NOT for Apple iMac. Am I correct? I just got informed about this site and wondered why not much works.
Thanks guys :)

Not as far as I know, however you can use Virtual PC software which emulates a PC on on your MAC.

This is not the case at all, as sexyeyes said earlier,i also use maxthon tabbed browser, which issnt IE,and works jus fine for me,also like in an earlier post, the new IE7 beta version is good,as it is also a tabbed browser, which saves opening window after window.
