Whats happening??

I am a little known person in this site and dont usually write in forums but thought i would have my turn of moaning! It will probably spark off a fury of rebuke but Im not really worred about that.
Despite being a "newbie" I thought i should point out that the site seems to be changing a lot. In my opinion.......going down the pan!
When I first came on there were some really good permanant rooms with great music, good chat and of course the quizzes for those who wanted them.
Everyone seemed to be enjoying it and there were always a few good convos ongoing at the same time......a place for everyone.
Now it seems that unless you are either happy to "get them out", talk about drugs or call everyone "fucka" there is no place left for folk like me!
I see more and more meetcam users in another site now.....one that has kept the decorum that this one seemed to have before.....[pity really.
OH well thats it really..........

What's happening is this.... too many people are spending too much time bitching and not enough time enjoying themselves....

The site used to be such a good laugh, people just having fun, nobody taking themselves or the site too seriously.

I remember some great nights, with some great characters, Satchmo and his guitar, Zanta and his search for Ms Right, MrReee blowing up lightbulbs and other such household goods in his microwave. Ziggy and the truffle shuffle gang, great times had by all, maybe just maybe real life has got in the way, Satch is settled with a proper job, Zanta met Ms Right and we see less and less of these characters.

Nothing sinister, the thing with fun is, it's spontaneous and happens when the right people are in the right place at the right time!

I'm sure we'll see fun times again and there's always new victims ooops I mean members joining each day so at some point the cyber chemistry is going to be just right for some good old fashioned laughs

I have a theory too,the answer is the quiz bots!!!

They set the whole site into equilibrium. The people that like the quiz stick to the quiz rooms,which leaves the rest of the rooms free for everyone else that hate seeing the Q&A's scrolling through the room.

Without the bots,(not many been here for one reason or another latey) us Trivia addicts are forced to chat,not good when suffering from withdrawl symptoms,we all get a bit angsty and there's no fun in that!

I only came here,and kept coming back,for one reason,unfortunately that reason has gone,and so real life has taken precedent again. Oh,and it's not my microwave anymore,so no more experiments!

Well Snow, i have to agree with you on your observations my dear, things are happening that are not good! SOME people in SOME rooms seem to have to "big it up" to make themselves "popular" to me "ghettospeak" etc belong in the ghetto,not in Meetcam, in my opinion :( :( As always,people whose first language isn't English and who come from different cultures and backgrounds are a problem, especially for you wonderful ladies, i know they are SUPPOSED to read the rules before they enter,but as i said if English is not their first language,therein lies a problem! Anyway enough from me!

Hi, i want to post a reaction on here too cause of the whole non-native english speakers. Of course i understand that often the women are harassed by them and i dont agree with that at all. But i also would like to see that people on here wouldnt make fun of people that come from countries where english isnt a first language. I myself come from The Netherlands and its not always as easy to speak/type in english. So please cut the people from other countries some slack if they are making an effort to talk in your native tongue. And once again this doesnt mean being rude/disrespectful and all that is allowed.

Here here talpa...........and I am not sure there was a direct dig at non english speaking people but I for one welcome the opportunity to meet and talk to people from all over the world.........if they show me respect!!
Sadly my knowledge of other languages is limited to a reasonably pathetic level of French ............probably typical of many of us!
Lets use this chat room as a place to find out about how others live.....what their customs are .......and to broaden our outlook on what is beyond our own lives.

Well 24, do you think people started dreaming up things to bitch about just for the hell of it? A lot happened to the site is a fairly short time, none of it good, and you expect the members to just accept all of it and move on? Please give us credit for more common sense than that. It's hard to enjoy yourself when half your friends have been banned.
Snowy hit the nail on the head with her post. Maybe if instead of whining about the members that bring up legitimate issues, all you cheerleaders would actually work at making meetcam fun again the site might have a fighting chance.

things are always changing in life and in mc. people roll in and out of your life and it gets a bit crappy when you wonder where it all went. but we all roll on and the best we can do is make the best of it and do what we do and the real people will always stand out. it will come back to the way theres just alot of tense situations going on from what im seeing. keep hope alive girl its always springing! love you guys and i do love meetcam! xxx

OK ...

Non-English speakers are usually, I find, the politest people I ever hear from, apart from some notable exceptions (the "open-nipple" gang). They Do try to speak in English, sometimes having to resort to online translators which work out a lil funny at times, but they do put their point across.
I myself have a good command of German, cuz of learning it as a 2nd language at school and college, and what I don't understand I, too, run it thru a translator, although I try to keep with a human one, lol.

Anyway, what I'm saying is, I try to talk to the Germans in their own language to make things easier (albeit in pm land), and they're all the happier for it.

I agree with whoever-it-was-that-said folk who don't have English as their first language pretty much get shunned in MC, and I hate seeing that. I try to make a point in befriending those who are making an effort to be respectable, polite, and generally chatty. Those guys shouldn't get our arses shoved in their faces just because of a few simple misunderstandings. They really are out there to try and make friends.

Let's encourage that.

I wasn't trying to belittle the post or the postee, I was merely stating that people are never happier than when they have things to moan about, I don't think snowqueen was moaning, she was wondering whats happened to the permanent rooms which are now sat virtually empty most days/nights...

it's not much fun sitting in a chat room with people who only want to spend their time whining about this and that, it takes a little effort but it's possible to see the lighter side of life, accept that there are people on here from a vast range of society and that we won't all get along all of the time. and still have fun with it.

I am not sure I even want to go down the cheerleader route with you ungotz, if you knew me at all, you'd know I'm most definitely not cheerleader material. More the librarian/prefect sort of swot most likely to be seen with head in a book!!! I'm also a positive person with a good sense of humour and I've enough about me to not take this site or anyone on it too seriously and I'm perfectly capable of enjoying myself here or going elsewhere if my friends are there or it's not the right vibe for me.... failing that, I press the "OFF" button and I don't worry about it.

Quite a few people have worked hard to put the "fun" back into meetcam, like holding contests and the radio side of things, but the site has changed as things will over a period of time, you can`t put the genie back in the bottle, so to speak.
Where as all my online friends used to come to meetcam, now thay are scattered between different chats site, so I spend less time on meetcam now, I still come onto Meetcam to see my friends that are still here of course.

:( Ok, For starters, Hello Snow!,,, thought i'd might have something to say, since i use the term "Fucka" a lot, that i do not, by any means, believe it's got to do with calling everyone "Fucka", nor much less, talking about drugs or not, in my humble opinion it all boils down to being "Open-Minded", and giving every single person their right to express themselves in their very own way, without labeling, nor "Assuming" that cos this person uses particular vocab, they ought to be placed into a certain "group", per say.

in this life i believe the most important thing we can strive for and hope our children learn is respect..there is so little of it in todays world that it saddens me....it is not the only, but definetly the most important thing i try to get across to my children, hoping that they will grow up to be open minded and non judgemental of everyone.....we all judge in our own little ways, it's how it's conveyed that matters....no one offends me, it's not possible...i don't judge anyone...i don't have to like what you do, but i believe that if it makes you happy and doesn't get pushed on me or hurt someone, more power to you....twatty you are 100% correct...each little "quirk" we have makes us who we are....either love someone for who they are or don't associate with them....simple as that....

i dont think anybody took offense snow! thats the wonderful thing bout this site we get to meet all sorts of people different and the same as us. this forum is general discussion and people get to put there thoughts and express who they are on here. its a beautiful thing eh.......... i have my friends i like to mess around with and talk junk to and i have my friends i chat with in a more serious scenario. i just respect anybody who says what there thinking and doesnt hold back and thats why i love this site so much they do and i can too.......... its all just some good fun! we are who we are and we cant change that i have noticed as different as people are on here i have respect for many of them far and between. ive noticed looks dont carry very far for respect on here you have personality and you just be you regardless of what anybody thinks and you will meet all sorts of different cats. i mess with people alot i give them a hard time and im sure im not liked by a few on here but the ones i mess with and they can come back and mess with me a bit i talk to regularly. there are no limits who can be friends with. lol, i know im extremely off topic here but i was just generalizing to the overall convo doesnt matter where your from or who you are your sure to make some friends with some pretty cool people on here! kk love all you sexy cool cats! xxx
