I've been having a think about this subject for a while and it has come to my attention that the general concensus is that most people would like to be able to control who "watches" their cam.
I know that i for one dont care who watches my cam as i just sit and chat to friends in the rooms, we shud be able to have a pop-up that appears when someone new clicks on our cam saying " mr_imps has requested to view your cam " and then there be a yes or no tab for it. This will possibly stop those unwanted, uncalled for rude comments that coome across if people are, how can i say " performing", on cam. There could also be a bit in the profiles to set an automatic allow to let people watch your cam without the pop-up appearing. Maybe on yours friends list theres a tick box to say "allow person to view cam automatically".
This would if possible be a great feature and stop unnecessary rude comments from unwanted attention. It just means the non-cammers would have to chat and get to know people before they are allowed to view.
Thats my thoughts

I have been on other chat sites which have a feature called the "Block Button". This allows you to block that persons ability to view your cam. It also blocks that persons text from being viewed by yourself, just like the "Ignore User" on meetcam.
Now I am also aware that many chat sites are built on different platforms. Some allow you to implement the Block Button and others don't.
If I find an unwanted person viewing my cam, I just use "Pause" or change to a pretty picture for those to perve on :|

But are they paying the bills? Most of the most abusive pests I see here are non-pro members, they ain't paying for nuttin.

Good idea Imp's it would keep guys from stalking woman. also cut down on requesters. But should make it a option if you want it on or not.

i still say we shud bring it into play that way the chatters can then decide who they have veiwing their cam or make a locked cam an option to make it private except those that get permission from the user. this has worked on another site and i think it may work here

I totally agree with you on this....but once you block them one time it should be blocked until you say not to block them!!! Great Idea!!

Mr Imps.. luv luvs ya u know but in my opinion it is a ridiculous idea... granted most of the dumb asses are non pro's, but that is how word of mouth works... they will go tell someone what a cool sight this is and then that person in turn may actually purchase a pro account. If there is a pop-up window for every person wanting to view your cam #1 some of us girls would be opening the pop-ups all friggin day long... #2 there would be no reason to even have non-pro members because most people wouldn't grant access to members they don't know... I think that some kind of cam block should be implemented for extreme cases such as a potential stalker, that has documentation of how many times the person was kicked for the same offense against the same person, then maybe voted on by the ops to go ahead and allow an individual to actually block the viewing og thier cam... but if u give everyone that opportunity I think this sight would fail fast... thanks for listening...

I don't like the idea.
I do like the idea of being able to shut a cam down if a user is watching you and you want to turn off the cam on that user, ok sure. but if I had to wait to be approved to watch some cams I just would not have come and joined,
I started off paying the 7 day membership because I had a good time the first visit but didn't know if I would stick it out, well after paying for a couple of 7 days, I realized lifetime was the way to go I would be here for the long haul, the reason for sticking around, beyond the good people, is the fact that the cam system is so open, I can view whom ever I wish, and they can view me. I can see a Full room of 1 on 1 chatters with 1 on 1 camming because of this block function, no more leaving a room for privacy, I think it would hurt the community feel if it was automatic.
A site needs users to grow, if you make it unfriendly for users to come and joinin, you loose your user base. Meetcam was not the first Adult Web Cam community, and it wont be the last, you make people not want to come and it just gives another community more memebers to grow.
I would like to See Rick include some mild advertising. with the new chat system a small banner add could be included which would bring revenue from the non pro members.
