View Full Version : Ops entering a pvt room AGAIN!!

Ok, i have a complaint to make about OP's coming into a private room.
Today the room Poptarts was locked off,so a few friends could chat in peace, and on 3 occasions ,3 different OP's entered the room, and this wassnt by mistake,as all of them sat there for a while before leaving.
One did ask if it was ok to come in, but even that was cheeky,as the person in question could quite have easily pvt msg'd the room owner and asked for permission, b4 actually entering the room.
I thought we were all clear on this, and that entering a locked room without permission, whoever is in there, friends or not, IS A BIG NO NO.
So why are there Ops still doing this??

Im just wandering if the Ops in question clicked the room assuming it was unlocked as it usually is and didn't even notice the fact that it was locked. I trully believe that was possile with that many Ops entering a private room. Anyway I just like to give people the benefit of the doubt. HUGS!!

stacy, i do understand where u are coming from, and on certain circumstances i would say maybe yes, but the padlock was clearly visable, unlike sometimes when roomnames are long, and it hides the locks, but this wassnt the case today.

Yep, this a big NO-NO.
If it was accidental, they should have left immediately.
Soto, please take this up with the OP managers.

Ok i am one of the ops who came into the room today, i hadnt seen the lock and i am very sorry.....and i hasten to add i did leave right away.
No offence was intended and i couldnt even say who was in the room at the time, i was actually embarrased that i had made this error.
If this caused problems let me know.

sassy, i must admit, you did come and go quickly, and if it was a mistake, then thats cool, but the other 2 werent as spontantious at leaving as they should have been, and like i said earlier, one even asked once in the room, if we minded that they were there. to which they were told yes we did mind.
Also, another op decided to jump in the room, not once, but twice!!! in less than a minute, i will name and shame this op, shalimar.
I pvt msg'd this op afterwards, and didnt get a reply from him.
Why cant people just leave locked rooms alone,if they were invited then ok, and if they werent, then they shuddnt be so nosey.
ITS LOCKED FOR A REASON
sorry but it just annoys the hell out of me, i wouild never ever dream of entering a locked room without PRIOR permission, i feel this is a massive intrusion of privacy, and i thought we stamped this all out ages ago.

Ok. poptarts is a LOCKED ROOM, has been for some time now, with the odd occasion of it being unlocked, but this is very rarely nowadays, but yet in the past 24 hrs, the room has been invaded by ops, when locked at least 6 times, now im not gonna name names, as i really cant be arsed with it, fair enuff, some have come in and left str8 away after realising, and i cant moan at that, but 2 of them have actually had to be told to leave.
Ok, i did get an apology from one op,as her mouse had fucked up,and she couldnt leave, but the apolagy came via another person, i didnt get it direct.
This is common courtisy in my books. why couldnt i get the apolagy direct??
so pls pls OPs, look carefully b4 entering a room, cos this case especially is gettin beyond the joke now, and the room owner is gettin rather annoyed at the fact.
Ok thats my rant done.

wow.
i admit ive accidently clicked into a locked room n as soon as i hav ive apologised n dissapeard.
the rooms are so close 2gether that yeah u can just not sometimes put ur mouse right 2 it so it clicks on one below.(well it happns 2 me anyways)
also sometimes wen i see a permanant room ill click in but it doesnt show me that its locked becuase the tool bar is hidden wen its should really be open. but thats no ones fault due 2 fact that there are some damn long room names lol!! as soon as i realise its locked though i run away! n send an apology 2 the peeps in there!
if some stay in maybe its because they didnt actually see that it was indeed locked?! Its a total common mistake n no matter how hard ya try not 2 do it there are some stances where it just happns. dont begrude an accident. just simply send them a pm n tell them hey babe did u kno the room was locked? 9 outta 10 times they prolly didnt even know it was.
k thats a rant muwahahahahaha lol
btw how ya doing soton babe?

i accept completely wat ya saying hun, and as soon as an op enters the room, i get str8 on the mic and tell them, aswell as type it, and yer 9/10 they leave either b4 i have said it, or after. but there are still a few that jus sit there. which is annoying as hell.
btw im great thnx babes, hows ya scary self?

06-08-2006, 12:26 AM

Personally, I`d like to see this removed altogther for everyone except the site manager, as I can see no reason for having it really, if someone needs help in a locked room they would find an Op anyway.
l look forward to the next site update, can you tell us what it will be Stoney?
Different colours?, a Popup?

yeah friends... it `ll be nice if when we click in a private room, before we get into the room by mistake, we must click again to confirm... that way no more reason for entering in a Private Room...
Thats Just a Idea, once that happens with me too...
i create a private room, and in a space of around 45 minutes, 2 OP`s enter in the room... both of the Op`s send me a apologise message after that, but that must don`t happen anyway...
well... everything for the best of Meetcam :D
see ya!
I don't get it. What does it take when changing rooms to always check the room list to see who's locked before moving?
Lakes
06-08-2006, 10:49 PM
Because sometimes the list changes just as you click on a room.
If there is a long room name in the list the slider sticks in the midde, so it makes it difficult to see the Padloacks.

but on every occassion, that poptarts has been "Invaded", the locks have been visable.
Im shuttin up anyway, ive said too much on this subject.

One thing I suddenly felt like mentioning. is, unless they are opening cams, or staying a long time, lets try to be gentle for now. I KNOW HOW BAD IT SUCKS!! Trust me, ive been caught playing many a time, and on the mic as well. BUt doing all these posts, in all diff forums, repeatedly, will not get the feature integrated any quicker, and it wont make it have not happened.
Thing is, it seems to me, some of the "upset" in this, is the fear people are comming in just to see whos in there. FOLKS all ops got /watchlist and dont need to come in to be a nosey ass.
So know, chances are it was a mistake, and try not to be tooo paranoid. Again, hopefully feature will be in place soon!!!!

awww damn Stoney.....I didnt think everyone knew about the /watchlist feature.....shit.......now y'all will KNOW who I am pervin LMAO...........

so ummm....exactly how does this watchlist work???? I am confused by how much freedom ops have I guess....also I have been curious what happens when one is approved of op status...do you have more software installed on the computer or is it just a command thing? hhmmmm

Hey just, have you ever used IRC ? Its very simular to that, codes typed in the chat room.

i think we need to talk about this with the owner to see if anyone makes a locked room the room should go red. or another option is if you click on a locked room a message pops up saying do you know your entering a locked room click yes or no
just4fun85
09-04-2006, 07:45 AM
no i have never worked with IRC but I have worked with other coding..... i thought thats what it was....thanks for the clarification evil....:)

On the subject what ops can see, I have heard that an op can also see who a person is watching, so I would like to know if that is true.
ziggy
09-05-2006, 02:34 PM
Op`s have a 2 options here.
They can see a list of names who a user is watching & also who is watching that user.
They have to ask the server for this info though, it does not show all the time.
Hope that helps

can i just stress that Op's cannot read Pvt IM's, wat is said in IM is pvt, the only way we find out wats in an IM ,is if the recieveing person on the IM copies it and pastes it to us, so we can use it to make judgements on desicions.

ild just like to breifly add the reason the posts keep coming up should be obvious there are ops abusing there power ....... that is what needs to be dealt with .... not diff colors of script n what not ....they know what they do n ive been in rooms that were locked when ops werew asked to leave ...n ofcourse this was to no avail
sotonman
12-15-2006, 03:20 AM
and as is also stressed all the time to members..........
if you think an op is abusing there powers, and can provide proof of this in anyway...then please please send an email to
chatmanager@meetcam.com
