    Site features under strict control??

Now I understand why I've just been punished.. I did willfully ignore an op.. but I had a very very valid reason.. what they asked me to do was unreasonable in my view. Using the Global message system and sending messages across the rooms has always been ALLOWED.. NOT MENTIONED IN ANY RULES.. and to the best of my knowledge something only a limited amount of people ever seem to use anymore. Im NOT contesting my punishment in anyway, I would have punished myself if I still had the power there, BUT.. I AM CONTESTING not being allowed to use the global message system! I do not believe it is justified to be asked to not use it. Its a part of the site.. a free feature.. its not disruptive, I wasnt unpleasent with its use and also was not the only one to be using it.. however I was the only one to be kicked and then punished for it. Again, I did ignore the operators so they where right to punish me.

Now you oculd call it power tripping or w/e but i dont really care.. it's just not on from my perspective. Asking to not use globals is like asking people to not open your cam.. you come on here with a cam.. expect people to use it.. you have site feature like global messaging system.. expect people to use it also!

If anyone else feels this is a little ridiculous to attempt to BAN THE USE OF GLOBALS IN CHAT, please let your thoughts out below. If you like to sit back and have your chat liberties anally raped, bend over and pull ya cheeks apart coz it will happen if you let it.

We are the 99%. I believe in the 99%. Stand up for GLOBALS!

Sits back and waits to for someone to say im causing drama. Which im not!! Its called OPEN DISCUSSION not drama.

What the fuck is going on around here? Doc, of all people to get kicked or punished...where is that thread about, it is a sad day in Meetcam when... I think this shit is just silly. I would be pissed. Seems like, something has to give or, more people are just going to leave. Some I do not mind seeing go...just like some would not mind seeing me go but, Doc of all people has been nothing but, a good member of this site since, he got here. It is truly a sad day in Meetcam...

WOW Doc I'm amazed and stunned global message is a free feature, some people like them some people don't(If you don't I suggest you ask to be made black). Next icon's will not be allowed in chat .

I'm with you on this one it's just silly

Brilliant idea for an open discussion!

I'm pro the use of all site features that are available. For this to be an 'open discussion' I would love to hear the views of those who are against the sending of global messages, these same people also seem to be against the use of /ignore or right click ignore user, they must feel that it is much less disruptive to the chat to kick people out for sending a pm, announcing that kick across the entire server.

The Camfrog WEB Advanced Server 2.1 software is a beautiful piece of software, the chat features available can be found by typing /help in the room you will see the following.

    LadyWaiferton (9:48:27 AM) : /help
    Server commands list:
To see each command parameters run it without an arguments

/ver - display version and uptime
    /msg - send a private message
    /stat or /stats - display statistics
    /ignore - manage ignore list
    /quit or /exit - quit

    /oplist - manage operator list
    /banlist - manage ban list
    /reloadol - reload operator list
    /reloadbl - reload ban list
    /clearol - clear oplist
    /clearbl - clear banlist

    /addfriend - add server's friend
    /delfriend - remove server's friend

    /punish - punish user
    /unpunish - unpunish user
    /punishlist - display punish list
    /ban - ban user
/banip - ban user by ip
    /kick - kick user
    /ip - display user ip

/whowatching - check who is watching on this user
    /watchlist - check user's watch list
    /opme - enable operator status
    /close or /del - delete the room
/permanent - make the room permanent
    /proonly - make the room pro-only
/password - set or clear the password for the room

Not all users have access to all commands, as a blue user, my favourite commands to use are

/ignore username - this command lets me comlpetely block unwanted pms from individual users, as an added bonus I don't see anything they say in the room, nor hear what they say on the mic

    /password
    /password mypassword
    - the first of these unlocking the room I created and the second locking the room I created

/msg 'opfw' mymessage - lets me send a private message in red text to everyone in the server who is not black.
/msg 'opw' mymessage - lets me call an op and ask them to use the /blockmic command when one of my friends is stuck on the mic
/msg 'f' mymessage - allows me to go into ninja mode from all operators and still have fun sending 'globals' to my friends in other rooms on the same server.

That final command, /msg 'f' is how I managed to remain unpunished & unkicked last night. I was in a different room, a dear friend of mine was kicked for sending a "blind pm" (some poor distressed ditzy damsel was incapable, or completely ignorant of how to use the /ignore feature). We offered up support for our friend with a couple of /msg 'opfw' globals, these messages flowed into friendly banter between members of the different chatrooms across the server.

The operators of that server, demanded that we NOT use the global messaging system. Unfortunately in my opinion this simply creates an "us and them", it really separates the ops & owners from the friends of the server. I continued to send globals to my friends, by using /msg 'f'.

The CF web software is a beautiful piece of software, packed full of features that enables the individual user to take control of their 2D experience. I'm looking forward to hearing the views as to why these available, and useful features should not be used.

I for one wish people would not be so lazy with the /msg command. If it's intended for one person then use /msg whoever message instead of /msg 'opfw'.

I agree Ungotz.. if im sending a message to one person.. i will use their name and refrain from spamming the room. However if there is more than one person in the convo then it does end up as an 'opfw' command.

Also Thanks for the opinions and support here.
